The Dance That Drinks Party
The party deliberates their next steps. Some noteworthy out-standing issues:
- We need a way to the Abyss
- We need a way to the Realm of Lost Hope
- We need to know what the ritual is
We’ve considered a few options:
- Befriending/binding a demon to guide us through the Abyss, and give us more information (potentially) about the Realm of Lost Hope
- Finding a different planar being (such as a psychopomp) to help with the Abyss info and guidance
- Return to House Sussil lands to learn about the ritual(s) needed
Wondermitch performs some sendings to Awfuleah to try and suss out if Sussil lands is safe, and we don’t get any solid answers. The party learns in-game that Edith and Timimil are lost. We decide to head back to the troglodyte’s temple, and go on an adventure!
The party pops-up in a room of worked, black stone. A gug welcomes us, declaring: “yum yum”. COMBAT!! - With effort, we dispatch the gug.
Surveying our situation, we hear more gugs murmuring from below, and decide to book it up a second stairway. We climb for 2 hours, eventually coming to a room with benches or sarcophogi, and a solid gold sphere on a pedestal in the middle of the room. The gug behind us deliberate if their “food” has escaped already, or if they delayed in the room at the top (the room we were in). We take the hint, and continue up, emerging on a plateau of black stone, with a symbol carved into the floor, and the obvious trappings of a religious location: there a small, flat-topped pyramid has a glowing stone set atop it, with many smaller glowing stones floating around it. Kit decides to investigate, and a weird fish-headed ratfolk with tig ol’ biggies addresses Kit, asking why he has awoken her. The rest of the party approaches, and upon noticing Harvey, the figure shifts her focus entirely to him. She announces she is the queen and bringer of storms, most hated of the gods, and I speak in blood, both above and below, and it was fate that brought you to me. She demands a sacrifice. Harvey refuses. Skuulfuchs proposes sacrificing Kit. Kit tries to stab her, and she laughs, revealing her true form: a gargatuan tentacled pleasiasaur above the temple. COMBAT!!
- Maneuvering is performed, Harvey starts punching, and Skuulfuchs gets dominated.
We have to pause combat for the night, and we’ll pick up with the falled divinity fight next time!
