- Deal with the invading centaur army at Torvock’s Bridge
- Deal with any rogue Third Army forces
Events
After our disatrous assault on Fort Rather, we made our way east towards Torvock’s Bridge. Sir Oliver sends Kaldur an update, and we are redirected to Tiny Town, for new information. We briefly speak with some guards, before finding Kaldur’s tent, and meeting with him. Notably, we learn that Van Der Mere is actually the leader of the resistance at Fort Rather, but a fragment of his soul is being held by a daemon, demons, and devils. The new objective is to strike at any and all forces of Calcifer’s with the Third Army, specifically the one that is bound to Van Der Mere. More immediately, we are still to prepare for the centaur horde.
Presumably, after successfully fighting off the horde, there will be a celebration. Kaldur anticipates the outsider forces will not participate, and at that time we will strike at them. Kaldur has bribed the Checkered Men mercenary company to assist. There will be two additional mercenary companies participating: - Warriors of the Path - Sons of the Sun
Additionally, the giant Clan Burln despises evil outsiders. Kaldur has negotiated the Third’s arrival to fight the horde, and that post-conflict, Burln can dispose of the Third as they see fit.
There are also Tornock’s Guardians, the group of giants responsible for the protection and integrity of the bridge.
We stop in to the Tiny Town market, and buy some supplies. We also visit the Giant’s Town, where I get a note for Kaldur from one of the cloud giants (and also a silvered large greatsword). We deliver the message back to Kaldur (who is indisposed, behind some curtains with a blue glow), and head into Tiny Town proper. It’s packed and swarming, but we make it to the militia headquarters.
There, we discuss with some random dude what the oncoming battle will look like. He advises we speak with some others, since the battle plans have not been drawn up yet. We speak with Tornock’s Guardians about the battle plans, and which group to join to fight on the front lines, and they tell us they’ll send word to us once they know.
We return to Tiny Town militia headquarters, register ourselves to Kaldur’s camp (under Jasper’s name!) using a mixture of real and fake names, and settle in for the night. We’ll pick up here next time!
