The Dance That Drinks Party

Our party, plus 2 svirfneblin, a human, and a bugbear and his wallymog, move through the Underdark towards a nearby trading post. We follow the glowing lanterns to the trading post, a large zone with a small cobblestone wall around it. There are tents and shacks, as well as a single large stone building. Floating around the area are purple lights, and there are armed duergar patrolling. Upon the entrance is painted a white spiral.

Skuulfuchs buys 70 rations. We find and speak with Phenome-Phil. He and his adventuring party are looking for the Ruby Heart. It is insightful. We head to the relics shop, which is owned by an orc-riding intellect devourer. After some gaffaws, we learn more about the various flags; the one on the relic shop is red, meaning they’re buying. Blue means selling, purple means buying and selling. The flags often represent various factions, organizations, or allegiences; this one is the personal symbol of the relic-buyer.

We leave the relic shop, go to sell some loot, and find a knowledge broker. Skuulfuchs starts running his mouth, before Fuirpleace reminds him of the flag (purple - information is bought and sold; so don’t just give it away), and we begin trading. - For 20gp, he tells us how to get to the Sussil Clan territory; some strategy for entering their territory (trading goods, subterfuge, an invitation); they have 3 different libraries, of differing infamy, which require different levels of censure, and ease of access. - For 10gp more, he mentions some goods they’d be interested in (fruit-brandy or wine, especially from the surface; paper; and surface-borne spellcasting components). Plus, live subjects to fleshwarp. - We learn that an introduction from a matron of another drow house, a church or institution of significant scholarly merit, would likely be the only invitations accepted.

We head back, and setup our camp. Tang, one of the formerly-enslaved svirfneblin, asks if we’ve considered speaking with any of the Sussil clan members. We haven’t. We do! We stop into their tent, perusing their wares, and Wondermitch starts trying to get some information about access and their libraries. Meanwhile, Skuulfuchs and Fuirpleace follow a man who inquired about specific, first-world-made items in a manner which implied we should hear him. He leads us through several alleys, until eventually we get to a dead-end with some people discussing their pit fighters, and their excessive wagers. At a literal dead-end, and a figurative one, they return to Wondermitch just in time to discuss a potential to meet with some drow. After some negotiations, Fuirpleace agrees to let the drow copy a spell from his spellbook, and Wondermitch gets some scrolls. We are further invited to dinner, the next night, at the bunker with this drow, Gorlil, and his sister Jillil.

After, we visit the pit arena, where Skuulfuchs gets bullied by a bigger orc. He can’t decide to fight him or fuck him, so we break for the night.
